Charles Lavigne, PhD

Charles Lavigne holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a doctorate in Human Nutrition. He has many years of experience in bioproduct innovation, research, development, and technology transfer.

Before his current role, Charles worked as Scientific Director at the CDBQ, as Director of Biomass Valorization at Merinov (Quebec Fisheries and Aquaculture Innovation Center), and as a researcher at the “Nasjonalt institutt for ernærings- og sjømatforskning” (National Institute for Nutrition and Seafood Research, NIFES) in Bergen, Norway.

Mr. Lavigne is the author of over forty scientific articles, has presented at numerous national and international conferences, and holds three patents.

As part of his role at the CDBQ, Charles is responsible for strategic planning and investing, structure, budgets, talent development, financial results, and measuring customer satisfaction. He ensures communication with the Board of Directors.
